The Project
The four-storey mixed-use building provides five ground-level commercial tenancies and seventeen apartments, plus rooftop terraces.
The development is located within walking distance of local shops and eateries, the arts precinct, the commuter hub, and Bendigo Railway Station.
Our Work
Our planning and transport teams worked on the application for the site which was surrounded by properties within a Heritage Overlay.
The team introduced the four-storey building into an area earmarked for three-storey development, surrounded by largely single-storey dwellings. The application was presented to the Office of the Victorian Government Architect and was able to garner Council support. The application still proceeded to a VCAT hearing due to objectors, but was granted a permit at the direction of Tribunal.
Our waste team assisted with the design of the waste management system and prepared a waste management plan suitable for town planning submission. The proposed waste management system involves separate bin rooms for residential and commercial waste, with equipment to allow for the separation and collection of general waste, recycling, organics, glass, hard waste, and e-waste.
