Our planning, transport and waste management teams joined forces to consult on a Delahey childcare centre.

The combined expertise of the arborist, John Patrick, and Ratio’s transport engineers were required to solve issues complicating access to the site in the form of a street tree that required retention.

The Development

A planning permit for a 100-place childcare centre, with onsite car parking, has been achieved for the site in Melbourne’s north-west.

Our Work

Our planning team joined the project in August 2021, providing preliminary due diligence advice and project management guidance prior to facilitating the application of a planning permit through Council.

Significant negotiations with Council’s planners succeeded in achieving the permit following design responses which were required to respond to character-related concerns.

Our transport team were integral to providing traffic input and solutions, preparing a transport strategy for the childcare centre with access arrangements to Goldsmith Avenue. These arrangements required necessitated careful negation of site constraints and consideration of the site’s proximity to the neighbouring school.

Our waste management team provided a waste management plan allowing for the separation of waste streams within a 12sqm external bin enclosure. The waste management team also worked in tandem with our transport team to prepare a waste truck swept path assessment, demonstrating collection from the carpark with a mini rear loader waste collection vehicle.
