The multistage residential subdivision development, located in the growing Launceston suburb of St Leonards, will comprise a total of 191 lots.

As part of stage 2 of the multistage development, our transport team prepared a transport impact assessment in support of the planning application, and concept design for road and intersection upgrades to improve the safety of the site access.

The project

The multistage residential subdivision development, located in the growing Launceston suburb of St Leonards, will comprise a total of 191 lots. Due to visibility, safety and constructability concerns at the site’s natural access point, the client sought to establish an alternative entry via a smaller local road to ensure safer access for future residents.

Our work

Our transport team collaborated with the client to facilitate access to the site via the local road. This involved designing an upgraded intersection off the main highway to provide safer access to the local road and site. We also developed parking treatments along the road to ensure the provision of sufficient and safe on-street parking.

The intersection and parking design created by Ratio’s team ultimately led Council to approve the development.
