Redevelopment of the Fairfield Forum Shopping Centre has received planning approval.

The development aims to redevelop the retail centre, with a wider masterplan that sets out to reinvigorate the Fairfield town centre.

Fairfield Forum Shopping Centre

The development incorporates approximately 18,000sqm of retail space and 1,500 residential apartments.

Our Work

Ratio’s transport team joined the project in 2018, providing master planning design advice, car parking assessments based on empirical data, traffic modelling of the wider arterial road network, and reporting and negotiations with Council.

Our team initially joined the project as a master planning exercise to inform the preparation of a Site Specific Development Control Plan (SSDCP). The teams’ master planning activities informed the transport component of the project to gain gateway approval, allowing SSDCP.

Our team subsequently undertook modelling and reporting duties to provide technical support to the SSDCP. Through the application of specialist road network modelling, the project team were able to deliver improved network capacity through optimised signal operation and network coordination to demonstrate that traffic generated by the development could be accommodated.

Next Stages

The development is endorsed by Council and has been incorporated into the Fairfield Local and Environmental Plan.
