Smart waste design preserves Council collection for 14-storey Amari Toowong development.

Our waste management team provided waste design advice and a waste management plan for the 28-apartment development, situated in one of Brisbane’s major activity centres.

The project

Amari Toowong is a 14-storey residential development delivering 28 three-bedroom apartments in one of Brisbane’s major activity centres. The development brings a high-quality built form to an established and evolving inner-city suburb.

Our Work

Our waste team prepared waste design advice and a waste management plan for submission to Council, working within the constraints of the site to find a practical and compliant solution.

A key challenge was the constrained bin-room footprint. With limited space available, we proposed beneath-chute compaction to significantly reduce the number of bins required on site. This approach resolved the spatial constraints without compromising the building’s waste servicing capacity and ensured that Council waste collection could be accommodated on site rather than requiring kerbside servicing.

The result is a waste solution that works with the building’s architecture and site conditions, meets Council requirements, and supports the long-term operational needs of the development.
