The Williamstown proposal features a contemporary double-storey home affected by a Heritage Overlay.

Ratio’s planning team worked with the client and council to achieve a successful application respecting the heritage qualities of the area.

The Project

The contemporary double-storey dwelling in Williamstown is located within the Neighbourhood Residential Zone – Schedule and is affected by a Heritage Overlay.

The main design elements of the building feature quality materials including a floating concrete ceiling, glass paneling and charred timber, with internal gardens featured on site.

The development lays within walking distance of Williamstown Beach and the Williamstown Botanical gardens.

Our Work

Ratio’s Planning team assisted their clients to successfully obtain a planning permit through council while ensuring a site responsive design that respects the heritage qualities of the precinct.

The team lodged a VCAT application that appealed the conditions relating to materiality, working alongside Bryce Raworth during the hearing to present heritage evidence.
