The Project
The Courthouse Hotel is located on Errol Street, in North Melbourne. The iconic pub required a permit to make some alterations and polishing via sympathetic designs by Alana Cooke.
Our Work
We were pleased to assist a former client in providing advice for a refresh to the Court House Hotel. The client had previously renovated the iconic Naughton’s Hotel with a high quality outcome (and some involvement from Ratio!) and wanted to extend the same love to the Court House Hotel. The works included external alterations such as new window awnings, painting, and new signage to promote food and drink offerings.
The potential for new window openings was not able to be realised, given Council concerns with the heritage significance of the property.
As the building is affected by a Heritage Overlay, Council requested further information after the initial submission. The team was able to work with Council to ease these concerns and provide more certainty about the high quality changes.
