The mixed-use development, consisting of 28 apartments and ground-floor retail tenancies, is strategically located just a stone’s throw from Essendon Train Station.

Our planning, transport, and waste management teams provided advice throughout the application process, producing town planning, transport impact and waste management reports.

The Project

Developed by Young Group and designed by Pixel Architecture, 65-67 Rose Street Essendon features 28 apartments above a ground floor retail unit in leafy Essendon, incorporating common areas and bicycle facilities for its residents. The location will offer excellent access to Melbourne CBD, notable schools, the Maribyrnong River, and more.

Our Work

Our planning team prepared, lodged and managed the planning application for the project. We coordinated the client’s team and worked with Rigby Cooke at VCAT to navigate the issues raised by Council and objectors, subsequently achieving planning permit approval at compulsory conference.

Ratio’s transport teams undertook swept path analysis of the basement car park and rear laneway, assessing the demand generated by the development and the capacity of the local road network. Our waste team prepared a waste management plan for the development, advising on the required waste storage areas and volumes in addition to the collection methodology.
