The project
A contemporary expression of coastal architecture, the development champions the connection between each apartment, the surrounding outdoor areas, and the bay beyond.
58 Beach offers 6 large-scale residencies across three levels and shared basement parking. With ample natural light, woodgrain joinery, oak flooring, and natural stone elements, the development captures the relaxed and refined character of Hampton itself.
58 Beach has been named a finalist in The Urban Developer Awards for Excellence 2025 – Development of the Year: Small-Scale Residential (4-10) category.
Our Work
Our planning team successfully led the permit application process through Council, addressing neighbourhood character concerns and ensuring compliance with Design and Development Overlay – Schedule 1. We worked collaboratively with all stakeholders, managing amenity-related objections and ultimately overturning a Council refusal through resolution at a compulsory conference. Throughout the application lifecycle, we facilitated an objector consultation meeting and a council meeting and coordinated several amendments to the approved plans throughout construction.
Our transport team carefully designed site access and parking layouts to enable safe vehicle circulation while meeting all relevant planning and engineering standards. In response to emerging site constraints, the basement car park, initially proposed at two levels, was reconfigured into a single-level solution. The revised layout, developed in close collaboration with the architect and builder, maintained functionality, ensured compliance, and supported constructability within the site’s compact footprint.
Our waste team prepared a waste management plan, which included a shared basement bin room designed to support efficient source separation of general waste, commingled recycling, organics, and glass. The system ensures convenient resident access, satisfies Council requirements, and accommodates on-site collection via a 6.4m private mini rear loader, reducing the impact on Beach Road.
