The Project
The five-storey development will comprise retail at ground floor and A grade office spaces at upper-levels.
The building will offer over 1000sqm of office space across four floors with outdoor terraces, a 133sqm retail tenancy, and an office lobby on ground floor. The basement level will house a stacker pit for 16 car spaces and storage for 18 bicycles.
Our Work
Our planning team provided initial advice based on the planning controls and understanding of approvals in the area, which helped shape the building envelope. Following lodgement of the application, Council planners raised concerns with the development, notwithstanding similarities to building envelopes approved in recent approvals along the High Street corridor.
While being able to address some of Council’s concerns, our team briefed Best Hooper Lawyers to resolve the outstanding issues via the VCAT process.
Pleasingly, issues were able to be confined following a Compulsory Conference at VCAT, before Best Hooper Lawyers was able to obtain a decision on the spot at the VCAT hearing.
