This project forms part of our ongoing work with the Big Housing Build scheme to prioritise affordable housing in Victoria.

While our history with the site dates back to 2014, it was gratifying to achieve this most recent approval via the Big Housing Build scheme as overseen by Homes Victoria.

Community Housing

The Egan Street development will provide 106 dwellings for community housing in Carnegie. The 10-storey community will be managed by Housing Choices Australia, one of the largest community housing providers in Australia.

Our Work

In line with the Big Housing Build, the streamlined approvals process required consultation with Glen Eira City Council, DELWP, Office of the Victorian Government Architect and the Carnegie community, with various changes made responding to feedback received from these quarters.

Early consultation with Council, coming off the back of an existing planning permit for an 8-storey development, was crucial to the success of this project and enabled a smooth pathway with both Homes Victoria and DELWP.

The Team

Our planning, urban design and transport teams were pleased to work alongside Dean Priester (Project Management), GIW Environmental Solutions (ESD), Urban Waste (Waste management) and John Patrick Landscape Architecture (landscape).
